As per the Government of Gujarat’s Urban Development and Urban Housing Department’s notification dated 01/01/2025, Nadiad Nagar Palika along with ten adjoining Gram Panchayats — Yoginagar, Piplag, Dumral, Fatehpur, Kamla, Manjipura, Dabhan, Bilodra, Uttarsanda, and Tundel — have been merged to form the Nadiad Municipal Corporation.
Upon the formation, Shri Amit Prakash Yadav (IAS), District Collector of Kheda, was appointed as the first Administrator. The administration quickly began focused development and improved civic services.
The first annual budget (2025–26), announced on 19/02/2025, proposed developmental works worth ?897.17 crore without increasing property tax in newly included areas.
Nadiad Nagar Palika was originally established on 16/05/1866. This historic day is now celebrated every year as "Nadiad Day" to honor its legacy.
